New snood for 2022!

New for 2022 – a unique Gallop design featuring the hilly course profile on a snood/Buff!

Yours for £5. You can pre-order when entering the Gallop or buy on the day. All profits go towards Grindleford Primary School PTA.

2022 ENTRY UPDATE

There are about 220 (180 runner and 40 walker) places still available and we will be releasing these in early January. The exact date for this is still to be confirmed (it depends on entry system improvements) but we will let you know on here and the website at least 1 week in advance.

In the meantime we wish you all a very happy Christmas time filled with running and beautiful cloud inversions like we had yesterday! From Team Gallop X

ENTRY ISSUES UPDATE

The team from Fabian4 have been working throughout the day to try and resolve the problem. About 200 email addresses were retrieved and these have been emailed and given priority access.

The exact gremlin in the server still hasn’t been identified and we don’t want to open places again until we can guarantee there won’t be the same failure. Please watch this space for details on when we will reopen the entries site (guaranteed to be a more sociable hour!).

We really appreciate the messages of support that people have emailed and posted. The last thing we want to do is let down Gallopers old and new. If you have any queries please email the info@grindlefordgallop.co.uk address and we will get back to you when we can (please bear in mind we are volunteers and have day jobs and families to contend with as well).

Best wishes from Team Gallop

Entry website crash

We are so sorry about the collapse of the booking system this morning.
We have been in touch with Fabian4 and it looks like the webserver wasn’t configured correctly for the high load by their hosting company as requested. This is something they are chasing up as you would expect.

We will do our best to find the fairest way to allocate entries, crediting where possible those who tried to enter early this morning. We understand there is a record of email addresses of many of those who started the entry process so we are hoping to be able to prioritise them.

We will update everyone once we have more information.
Thank you for your patience.

Congratulations to Sage as fastest male at 2:28:43 and Florence as fastest female at 3:12:07.

As always many thanks to the volunteers who make the event happen. In addition to those that you see on the day – such as those at the start/finish and marshals en route – there’s also the kitchen staff, cake bakers, soup ingredient chopper uppers (including some school pupils) and parking marshals.

Thanks also to the good people of Grindleford who tolerate the influx of cars and runners and the sponsors:

A final thank you to everyone who entered for supporting our brilliant Grindleford Primary School!

If everything goes to plan we’re looking forward to the Gallop returning to March in 2022. Watch this space and www.facebook.com/GrindlefordGallop for updates.
